Most users use Oxygen for visually designing the templates that various views like the single posts, archives use. And, Gutenberg for the post content itself.

Little bit different. Gutenberg with custom blocks + custom theme gives you more control (eventually is cleaner and faster) and superb customer experience while editing content. Donwside is that you’ll have to learn javascript and if you prefer, then react. Also you’ll have to get into theme development to fully utilize the power of gutenberg. Some default blocks are stupid (image for example, unnecessary figure tags etc.) so you’ll have to create your own.

It is interesting to see how well block themes will perform when they get fully released.

Oxygen is easy to use and building site from scratch is faster. However it is still a builder so it comes with certain limitations that you’ll have to get past. Oxygen is like a good middle ground between custom theme design and site builder.

I’m in a process of creating my own gutenberg theme and so far I’m enjoying the results 😊 will offer it as an alternative to oxygen to my clients.

Gutenberg is the tomorrow. Oxygen is the today.

Out of the box, it’s much easier to build a website as you want with oxygen.

Oxygen Builder, simple reason, because its hard for me to implement custom design with Gutenberg, usually I give up 😬
