I have an archive display issue that’s got me stumped – more so because I’ve done this sort of stuff before.
So, I have a custom post type called Town Directories – town_directories. Archive is set to True. It has a main category, Town Directory, and several sub-categories.
I have an archive set to pick up Town Directories. The archive repeater element is set to default. Archive priority is set to 999.
If you visit https://brightlingsea.info/category/town-directory/?post_type=town_directory, you can see the two test posts with a category – online, etc.
Click on those category links – say – https://brightlingsea.info/category/town-directory/online/ and no archive is shown.
On the individual post – https://brightlingsea.info/town_directory/4397/ if you click on ‘online’ in the breadcrumb, then it shows the post under the correct archive title.
I’ve tried this all ways round – setting Town Directories in the custom field of the repeater, adding taxonomies, but nothing seems to make it work as it should. I’ve tried it with another similar post type and the same thing happens. It seems to need the ?post_type=town_directory appended to the url to work.
Am I having a major senior moment? Or is something else going on? Any help appreciated!
